Its great to hear that you've continued to get a project set up. And the ROV project sounds very interesting!
Dr. von Jouanne is an excellent person to talk to about power takeoff from wave energy buoys.
What is the class exercise projected to be? There's several ways to set up a good educational project about wave energy.
I'm helping to establish an "ocean wave energy challenge" at OSU in the spring term. Initially, we may just have OSU students participate, but possibly younger students, too.
Also, I'm leading an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) project with over 20 OSU students involved. There may be some common interest between the ROV project you mentioned and the AUV project here in Corvallis.
